Michael O'Hara & Ressurection
Michael J. O’Hara ‘The Sheik’ and Resurrection

SUNDAY, 4:45 – 5:45

A St. Louis native, Michael J. O’Hara – who wrote his first piano composition at age 6 – formed a successful regional rock band in the late 70s, The Sheiks, which moved to New Orleans in 1979. Developing a diehard local following, the band opened for legendary rock acts like the Rolling Stones, The Who, The Police, Chaka Khan and many others. A toss of the coin found him moving to Los Angeles and securing a publishing deal with MCA/Universal. He penned #1 hits for legendary artist Anita Baker and songs for other top artists. All in all, Michael has garnered four Grammy nominations, two American Music Award nominations and two BMI awards. He recently moved back to his beloved New Orleans and formed a new band Resurrection, which covers his old songs from The Sheiks, among other projects.
